Thursday 4/10/14 Language Arts

Good Morning, Readers!

Per. 1 – Writing Workshop

Take out:

1. Agenda, open to last night’s reading

2. Language Arts spiral

Prepare:
We will begin taking the SBAC test next Monday. The schedule for the week is:
Mon. – Math Test (8:15-10:30)
Tues. – ELA Test (8:15-9:36) and (11:50-1:00)
Weds. – Lesson to prepare for Math Performance Task
Thurs. – Math Performance Task (8:15-10:30)
Fri. – no testing for us, but other classes are testing
  • You will be expected to arrive at school on time each morning ready to start the test.
  • No one will be leaving the room to go to the bathroom, so make sure you go before coming to class.
  • You will need to have a book ready to read after finishing the test each day. No one will be allowed to get out of their seat to get a book.
  • Cellphones and other electronic devices must be kept in backpacks. If they are found on your person (pocket, etc.) they will be taken and kept until Friday.
  • The level headphones are set to during initial set up cannot be changed during the test, so make sure you set them to a level that is not too loud or so quiet you can’t hear the sample sound.
  • Teachers cannot help with ANY questions about the test.  For example, I cannot tell you to…

Writing:

Today’s HW:

1. Read 30 pages in a book of your choice and log in agenda: title, pages read, summary, and parent’s signature.

2. Write 5 good questions for LAWKI p. 279-308 and be ready to share what you thought were the main events tomorrow.
