Tuesday 6/3/14 Language Arts

Good Morning, Class!

Take out:

1. Agenda, open to last week’s reading

2. Language Arts spiral

 

Per. 1 – Reading Workshop (8:15-9:05)

How can you tell if an argument is convincing or not?

  • Read the essay of the person whose name is below yours on the list
  • Assess their essay using the bullet points on the rubric
  • Write a comment that clearly tells them where their argument is strong, and where they need improvements.

 

Per. 2 – Writing Workshop (9:08-9:58)

How can you present the strongest argument?

  • Read comments on your essay
  • Revise using comments and rubric as checklist
  • Proofread for word choice, sentence structure, transitions, spelling, grammar, capitalization and punctuation.
Today’s HW:

1. Read 30 pages in a book of your choice and log in agenda: title, pages read, summary, and parent’s signature.

2. Finish answering FTM questions through Ch. 21.

 

Per. 3 (10:03-10:42)

Read FTM Ch. 21 and do Study Guide questions.
