Wednesday 10/15/14 Language Arts

Good Morning, Readers and Writers! 

Take out:

  1. Agenda, open to last night’s reading
  2. Language Arts spiral and green folder from bin
  3. Book(s) to read

You should be in your seat reading or updating your green folder by the second bell.

Per. 1 – Reading Workshop (8:15-9:28)

  • 30 minutes of independent reading

  • Memoir example: Character Evolution in Lindy 
  • What did the narrator want? What was the struggle? What did he learn by the end?

 

Per. 2 – Writing Workshop (9:32-10:46)
How can I make sure I am writing about moments that really matter?
  • Finding Important Moments
  • Write for 15-20 minutes (new story or continue on one from yesterday, it’s up to you)
  • Share: Popcorn excerpts

What is Digital Citizenship?

Student Blogging Challenge #4

Today’s HW:

1. Read 30 minutes a day and log in agenda: Title, pages read, 1-2 sentence summary, parent signature.

2. Write a total of two pages of memoir story/personal narrative (counting what you wrote in class today).
