Lesson: 2.1 Greatest Common Factor, p. 31

Learning Target copy

Learning Target: Students will be able to explain and demonstrate how to find and use the greatest common factor (GCF) of two whole numbers.

Follow along on your computer as I show you how to access the various features on the Interactive Student Edition:

  • Getting to a lesson: Unit, Module, Lesson
  • Controls: full screen, play/pause, replay, turning sound on and off (turn yours off for now), closed captioning (can turn on if you want to)
  • Order: Video (be careful with volume!), Explore Activities (take notes on packet!), Explain (packet examples) — (You can use the tab key to move from one box to the next.)
  • Personal Math Trainer: Do these problems in your spiral notebook, numbering them like the computer does.
    • Orange whistle (only has a couple of questions)
    • Red whistle (mostly goes along with odds in packet, but uses slightly different numbers)
    • View Example, Step-by-Step, Video Tutor (will not do that exact problem), Textbook (takes you to the lesson, not the exact page), Animated Math.
    • Always check your work before hitting “Next” button. (If you use View Example or Step-by-Step you will have to “Try Another” problem on your own in order to get credit.)

Homework:

  1. Do Independent Practice p. 35-36 (odds).
  2. Get Module 1 Test (p. 25) signed by parent.

(Switch name cards for next class.)

I hope you had a great day!

See you tomorrow!
