Warm-Up:

  • 1.1 Lesson Quiz
  • Do the Extend activity below on the back of your paper if you finish early

 Extend:

  • The lowest and highest places in the contiguous, or adjoining, states of the United States are both in California, as shown in the graph. How can you use the graph to find the difference in elevation between the two locations?

Lesson: 1.2 Comparing and Ordering Integers

Engage:

Which temperature is colder: -20º or -8º? How can you decide?

  • Teams with negative win/loss records have more (wins/losses) than (wins/losses) while those with positive records have more (wins/losses) than (wins/losses).
  • A team with a negative win/loss record is (more/less) successful than a team with a positive win/loss record.
