Learning Target: Students will be able to find a “just right” book and read for comprehension. Students will be able to write a guided friendly letter.

Intro to Independent Reading

  • Procedure: Checking out class books
  • Letter to Your Teacher directions
  • Begin writing letter
  • Label bins & folders
  • Take out “What I Want to Read” list
  • Find books to put on your list and one to check out
  • Review Leaving Classroom Procedure
