IM 3.6: Interpreting Rates

Learning Target: Students will be able to understand that there are always two unit rates, a/b and b/a, associated with a ratio, a:b and see that the unit rate chosen for a given problem might depend on how we intend to use the unit rate.

Let’s explore unit rates.

Open IM 3.6: Interpreting Rates (Student Task Statements) on Classroom

  • Activity 6.2: Cooking Oatmeal
  • Activity 6.3: Cheesecake, Milk, and Raffle Tickets
  • Cool-Down 6.4: Buying Grapes by the Pound

Homework:

  1. Complete all parts of IM 3.6: Interpreting Rates and turn in on Classroom.
