Please come in quietly and take out:

Per. 1 (8:15-9:05) – Language Arts
Learning Target: Students will be able to:
- Perform an initial reading of a text and demonstrate comprehension by responding to short analysis and inference questions with textual evidence.
- Practice defining vocabulary words using context.
- Participate effectively in a range of conversations and collaborations to express ideas and build upon the ideas of others.
Open Sunrise Over Fallujah on StudySync
- Intro: Read together (refer to Introduction Glossary if you have it in Scaffolds)
- (Skip Vocab for now)
- Read / Build Background:
- Each pair will be assigned a topic number to research
- Open the link provided
- Go back to Intro tab and open Scaffolds. Find the same number as your topic and research answers to those questions.
- Present to class (pairs who did the same topic can add more info)
- Read: Read with or without audio. Annotate using the Annotation Guide in Scaffolds bar.
- Think: ACE the three Think questions
- (HW) Vocab: Definitions and Sample Sentences

- BTH (1-2 sentences: Who? What? When? Where?) + 1 visualization, thick question, use of context clues, or inference
