Monday 3/25/19 – Language Arts

Good Morning, Class!

Please come in quietly and take out:

Per. 1 (8:15-9:05) – Language Arts

Learning Target copyLearning Target:  Students will be able to listen to a text and determine the author’s purpose, main ideas, details, and the relationships between them.

Open Listen & Interpret – Introduction (Jane Addams) assignment on Classroom

1. Listen and fill in words on the Cloze Read as the teacher reads the level 1 passage.
2. Complete the Central Idea questions as the teacher reads the level 2 passage.

Open Listening Comprehension Activities assignment on Classroom

  • Choose an article that looks interesting.
  • Click the link to go to the Google Form.
  • Read the background information at the top, then click the link to open the news story page.
  • Split screen the questions and audio.
  • ACE required questions (you can start, stop, rewind audio while answering the questions).
  • Bonus is Extra Credit!

Homework:

  1. Read 30+ pages and log on Biblionasium:
    1. Title/author
    2. p. ____ to p. ____
    3. BTH (1-2 sentences: Who? What? When? Where?) + 1 visualization, thick question, use of context clues, or inference
  2. Academic Vocabulary Lesson 9 (due Fri. 3/29)

Per. 3 (10:01-10:49) – Creative Writing
