About

We are a class of 32 sixth-grade English Language Artisans and Mathematicians in Lawndale, California.

Lawndale is in the South Bay part of Los Angeles County. We are close to LAX International Airport and the Pacific Ocean.

Welcome to our blog!

Jane Addams Middle School has nearly 1,000 students in sixth through eighth grades. Our school mascot is the Bengal Tiger.

Within the school, we have eight college teams. We are on Team Yale (the best team!), and our team mascot is the bulldog. Nothing represents grit and determination better than a bulldog!

And now, let us introduce ourselves:

Miss Nichols is in her 16th year as a 6th grade teacher and is looking forward to a great year of learning with all of her students.

    G’day Miss Nichols,
Some great introductions from your students in the blogging challenge, but I am not able to flip them to the magazine as their site visibility is not set to allow search engines. Instead I will mention some good intros at the end of my next post for the challenge.

      Hi Miss W.,

Is this setting something we can change on their individual blogs or from my dashboard?

      Thanks,
      Miss Nichols

        G’day Miss Nichols,
You change it in the dashboard of your blog. There are two things to check. Firstly go to your blog dashboard> settings> reading and make sure site visibility allows search engines.

Next is to change it for all the students. To do this on your blog dashboard go to My Class> settings> privacy and click allow all visitors to all blogs

This updating of the My Class settings can take a while as it has to check each individual student blog.

Awesome, Miss W., think I got it.

And thanks for featuring three of our Yale 24 Learners for Week 1’s About Me page on your Week #2 post!

          Miss N.
