BLOGGING RULES AND GUIDELINES
The purpose of blogging at school is to further your education in reading, thinking, and writing. Remember that you are now writing for a global audience and everything you post can be seen and commented on by anyone on the Internet! Please refer to the following rules and guidelines to make this experience a success.
1. Be Safe:
- Use first names only.
- You may post pictures of your work, but not of you.
- Never post your address or where you will be at a certain time.
2. Be Decent:
- Only say something to someone else that you would want them to say to you.
- Be respectful of all people and ideas.
- Make positive or helpful comments only.
- Respond to people who write comments on your blog.
3. Be Diligent:
- Make your posts and comments worth reading by doing your best work.
- Reread everything you type for mistakes and errors!
- Use correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Work towards expressing yourself in thoughtful, clear, detailed writing every time you post!
- Keep up with weekly post requirements/ assignments.
- Always provide photo credits to their sources (go through Creative Commons).
- Write in your own words. If you occasionally want to use the words of someone else, use quotes and give credit to that person.

Hey Miss Nichol’s, I love your class blog!
It’s pretty cool to see that I have made some friends in Cali.
Are any of the books your reading…..fun? Are they fiction or non-fiction?
Are all the kids in the picture on the top of your screen in your class?
I totally agree with your class blogging guidelines because no one should post pictures of themselves or where they live.
What is the name of the school that you work at? I might know someone that goes there. What are you and your class studying in Social Studies, and in Language Arts? At your blog you state that you also teach Enrichment class. What is that? What do you do in that class? What do you learn?
