BLOGGING RULES AND GUIDELINES

The purpose of blogging at school is to further your education in reading, thinking, and writing. Remember that you are now writing for a global audience and everything you post can be seen and commented on by anyone on the Internet! Please refer to the following rules and guidelines to make this experience a success.

1. Be Safe:

  • Use first names only.
  • You may post pictures of your work, but not of you.
  • Never post your address or where you will be at a certain time.

2. Be Decent:

  • Only say something to someone else that you would want them to say to you.
  • Be respectful of all people and ideas.
  • Make positive or helpful comments only.
  • Respond to people who write comments on your blog.

3. Be Diligent:

  • Make your posts and comments worth reading by doing your best work.
  • Reread everything you type for mistakes and errors!
  • Use correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Work towards expressing yourself in thoughtful, clear, detailed writing every time you post!
  • Keep up with weekly post requirements/ assignments.
  • Always provide photo credits to their sources (go through Creative Commons).
  • Write in your own words. If you occasionally want to use the words of someone else, use quotes and give credit to that person.
